MISERY LIKES COMPANY
Sexual Abuse is only one form of child abuse. It often co-exists with other forms of child abuse and maltreatment:
1. Physical Abuse: Infliction of injury on a child by a caretaker; damaging a child’s bones or tissues by non-accidental means, beating, punching, kicking, and biting; injuries such as internal hemorrhaging, bruises, and burns are quite common.
2. Neglect: Not caring for the basic needs of children, food, clothing shelter, and medical care; this is considered willful failure to provide adequate care and protection for a child.
3. Emotional Abuse: Criticising, belittling, and the absence of nurturance, in a psychologically abusive environment of mental torture where the abuser tells a child s/he is worthless, unwanted, unloved, and a burden.
