EVALUATING PSYCHOLOGICAL HARM

Childhood Sexual Abuse (CSA)
Evaluating The Extent of Psychological Harm From Sexual Abuse

In evaluating the psychological effects, or damage done to the individual, clinicians often examine seven simple factors:

1. Age of the Child/Onset of the Abuse

2. Duration of the abuse

3. Aggression used by the perpetrator

4. Threat

5. Relationship of Child to the Adult

6. Degree (frequency of abuse)

7. Lack of adult or familial support
